The Bay Of Mont Saint Michel

In 1979, Unesco declared the Bay of Mont Saint Michel a monument of Worldwide importance.
Thanks to the tides, the bay becomes, during low tide, a natural reserve as well as an area for many types of activities. Not only a huge area for walks, excursions, but also for wildlife and flora.
With continuously changing colors, the bay remains a favourite subject for painters and photographers.

The bay has the biggest tides in Europe. Thus, the sea reveals one of France's most important seabeds for mussel and oyster farming (mussels from AOC labeled mussel beds).

The bay is also per tradition excellent for fishing, on foot as well as with nets etc.......

Les Herbus : This is the land grazed by sheeps during low tide and which is totally covered during high tide. The sheeps are called "pré salé" (pre-salted).

Les Polders :
Land regained from the sea with a diversified agriculture like corn as well as other market garden product.

Cherrueix : Situated in the center of the Bay, and because of its strong winds, ideal for sand sailing.

The Bay of Mont Saint Michel,is one of the most beautiful bay in the world.
