More than twenty years after the promulgation of the law which places among the national obligations the access to the leisure activities and the holidays of the disabled persons, their rate of departure on holidays remained weak.
The difficulty (underlined by the associations) was to find a satisfactory answer :
- In accessibility, about the accommodation, the equipments of leisure activities, about transports...
- In the field of the training of the people working in the tourist industry and more widely in the consideration by these last ones of the question of the handicap.
Fruit of a collaboration between the people working in the tourist industry, the disabled persons, their associations and the State Secretariat of the Tourism, the implementation of the label Tourism and Handicap has for ambition to offer a true choice on the whole tourist offer thanks to a reliable and homogeneous information.
| Delivered to the people working in the tourist industry, it is the gratitude of a step of quality integration, policy pursued by the ministry delegated to the Tourism for five years.
This national label has double aim:
- Bring a reliable, descriptive information, and objective on the accessibility of sites and tourist equipments by taking into account all the types of handicaps.
- Develop an adapted tourist offer.

The tourist office of Dol de Bretagne and Pleine Fougères strongly involved to obtain this label. Various points concerning the reception were realized. The staff has already received a training. It remains to complete it to have officially the label " Tourism and Handicap ".
